What is Galvanization & What is the Galvanization Process?

Galvanization is used to protect the steel. When metal is galvanized, it prevents corrosion and rust, making your products last longer than it would without it. Additionally, the galvanization process provides a waterproof layer to the metal.

The process of galvanizing metal:

  • Hot Dipped Items
    • After the item is constructed, it is dipped in a bath of hot molten
zinc to coat and seal the product. The zinc coating provides a
watertight seal and a textured rustic finish.
  • Galvanized Sheet Items
    • Coils of sheet steel are galvanized at the mill. After the item is
constructed, seams are sealed to provide a watertight seal and
      feature a smooth, shinier finish.
